Cold process soapmaking is an art form that's been practiced for centuries — and for good reason. Unlike commercial soaps that are manufactured at high temperatures and stripped of their natural glycerin, cold process bars are created by combining oils and lye at low temperatures, allowing the ingredients to retain their skin-nourishing properties naturally.

Why Cold Process?
The result is a bar that actually cleans without stripping your skin. The natural glycerin formed during the saponification process stays right in the bar, drawing moisture to your skin instead of pulling it away. It's the difference between skin that feels clean and skin that feels tight and dry.
Every bar of Polynesian® Breeze is handcrafted by our family in small batches — which means we can control every single ingredient, give every bar the cure time it needs, and ensure the quality is consistent every single time.
Natural Glycerin
Cold process retains all the naturally-occurring glycerin — a humectant that draws moisture to your skin with every wash.
No Harsh Stripping
Commercial detergent bars strip glycerin and sell it separately. Our bars keep it exactly where it belongs — in your soap.
Handcrafted Quality
Small batch production means every bar is inspected, cured properly (4–6 weeks), and consistent in quality every time.
Rich Lather
Our blend of sweet almond, coconut, and castor oils creates a luxuriously creamy, stable lather that rinses clean.
No Synthetic Dyes
What you see is what the ingredients make — no artificial colors, no unnecessary additives. Just beautiful soap.
Kaolin Clay
Our bars include kaolin clay — a gentle detoxifier that creates a silky slip and binds fragrance to extend your scent experience.
Clean Ingredients.
No Shortcuts.
Every ingredient in this bar is there for a reason. We don't pad our formulas with fillers. We don't use cheap synthetic oils. And we never use ingredients we wouldn't put on our own family's skin — because we do.
Our cold process formula is built on a foundation of premium skin-loving oils, enhanced with kaolin clay for a silky finish, and scented with a natural terpene-based fragrance blend that captures the Polynesian® Breeze experience without any synthetic fragrance chemicals.
Sweet Almond Oil
Rich in vitamins A, E, and fatty acids. Deeply moisturizing, helps soothe sensitive skin, and creates a luxuriously creamy bar with a silky feel. One of the most skin-compatible oils in soapmaking.
Coconut Oil
The powerhouse of cold process soap — responsible for that satisfying, bubbly lather and excellent cleansing. Coconut oil saponifies beautifully and produces a hard, long-lasting bar.
Beef Tallow
A traditional soapmaking ingredient experiencing a well-deserved renaissance. Tallow is remarkably similar to human sebum, making it exceptionally skin-compatible. It creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a dense, creamy lather.
Kaolin Clay
A gentle white clay that does three things beautifully — creates a silky slip in the lather, gently detoxifies and draws out impurities, and helps anchor the fragrance to the bar so the scent lasts longer.
Castor Oil
The lather-booster. Even a small amount of castor oil dramatically improves lather quality — making it thicker, more stable, and more conditioning. It also helps harden the bar and extend its life.
How to Use Your Cold Process Soap
Run warm water over the bar to activate the lather. Cold process bars lather differently than commercial soap — richer and creamier, not bubbly.
Rub between your hands or directly onto skin. The kaolin clay creates a silky, luxurious feel — take a moment to enjoy it.
Rinse thoroughly. The natural glycerin leaves skin feeling hydrated and soft — not stripped. No lotion required after.
Store your bar in a well-drained soap dish between uses. Keeping it dry extends the life of the bar significantly.
Laundry that smells like the resort. Now your shower too.
The Polynesian® Breeze Soap Bar was designed to be the perfect companion to our best-selling laundry detergent. Same scent family. Same resort inspiration. Same commitment to clean ingredients.
When your sheets smell like a tropical morning and your shower does too — that's not just laundry. That's a whole experience.

Frequently asked questions
Yes — our formula contains no synthetic dyes, no parabens, and no phthalates. The terpene-based fragrance is naturally derived, and the oils we chose are among the most skin-compatible available. That said, everyone's skin is different; if you have known sensitivities, always patch test first.
Tallow is one of the oldest and most effective soapmaking ingredients. Its fatty acid profile closely mirrors human sebum, making it exceptionally compatible with skin. It creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a dense, creamy lather. Many people with sensitive skin actually do better with tallow-based soap than with purely plant-based alternatives.
With proper care (a draining soap dish, letting it dry between uses), a well-made cold process bar typically lasts 3–6 weeks with daily use. Our bars are cured for 4–6 weeks before shipping, which hardens them and extends their lifespan significantly.
The scent inspiration is the same — Polynesian® Breeze — but the cold process medium expresses the fragrance differently than the detergent powder. Expect the same tropical, citrusy, coconut-water character with a warmer, more skin-close quality. They're designed to layer beautifully.
We use anatural terpene-based botanical fragrance blend— derived from essential oils and plant extracts. It is paraben-free and phthalate-free. We chose terpene-based fragrance specifically because it performs well in cold process soap without the skin concerns associated with synthetic fragrance chemicals.
Many people do use cold process soap on their face — especially tallow-based bars — because the ingredients are gentle and the glycerin is moisturizing. However, we formulate this as a body bar. If you have acne-prone or very sensitive facial skin, we'd recommend patch testing first.
